Mike was born and raised in Paterson, New Jersey, and attended Passaic Tech High School in Paterson.  At Passaic Tech, he earned All-State honors and was one of the top 100 players in the state of New Jersey.  Mike was also named All-Area, All-Passaic County and second-team All-State selection as a senior.  He also lettered in Track and Field and Baseball in high school. 
 
Mike went on to attend the University of Delaware and was a Family Communications Major.  He started  23 of 43 games in his career with the Blue Hens playing strong safety and cornerback on teams that consistently earned postseason berths at the Division I-AA level, including the 2003 national championship squad.
 
Pro Career

2004
  • Burst on to the scene in the second half of the season for the 49ers, after spending the first half on the practice squad.
  • Signed to the active roster on Nov. 13, and went on to play in eight games with 4 tackles, 1 interception, and also added 5 special teams tackles.
  • On November 14th, recovered a fumble in his NFL debut.
  • Recorded first career interception on November 28th.
2005
  • Appeared in 14 games for the 49ers, starting 10 of them.
  • Set personal bests in tackles (77), sacks (1), and interceptions (4).
  • Finished the season with a bang. On January 1st, against the Texans, Mike picked off two passes. The first interception came in the 4th quarter, which Mike returned for a touchdown, tying the score at 17. His second interception came in overtime, and set up the game winning field goal.
2006
  • Mike played in all 16 games for the 49ers, starting 8 of them.
  • In the opener at Arizona on Sept. 10, started and posted 10 tackles.
  • Recorded 64 tackles.
2007
  • On April 2, Mike signed as a free agent with the Cleveland Browns.
  • Appeared in 15 games for the Browns.
  • Recorded 29 tackles and 1 sack.
2008
  • In his second season with the Browns, Mike played in 14 games, and started 5 of them.
  • Recorded 44 tackles and 2 interceptions.
