Highlights

Mike was an undrafted free agent from the University of Delaware and was signed by the San Francisco 49ers on April, 28, 2004. He signed onto the San Francisco 49ers practice squad on Sept. 6, 2004 and was activated from the practice squad on November 13, 2004.  After spending three seasons with the 49ers, Adams signed on with the Cleveland Browns as a free agent for the 2007 season and will suit up for his second season with the Browns in 2008.

  • Game 1 vs. Pittsburgh 9/9: Made his Browns debut by playing on special teams with 1 tackle
  • Game 2 vs. Cincinnati 9/16: Played safety with 3 tackles, including 2 solo, and 1 Pass Breakup
  • Game 3 at Oakland 9/23: Played on special teams with 1 tackle
  • Game 4 vs. Baltimore 9/30: Played safety with 1 solo tackle

  • In the 1st quarter, recovered a fumble by Ravens PR Cory Ross, forced by Joshua Cribbs, at the Baltimore 28-yard line

  • In his third season with San Francisco, played in all 16 games, including eight starts, with 67 tackles and 3 PBU
  • Started seven games at free safety and one contest at corner in the nickel defensive package
  • Also added 12 special teams tackles
  • In the opener at Arizona on Sept. 10, started and posted 10 tackles
  • Started with 6 tackles and 1 PBU vs. St. Louis on Sept. 17
  • Started with 3 tackles vs. Philadelphia on Sept. 24, and 8 tackles at Kansas City on Oct. 1
  • Started with 6 tackles vs. Oakland on Oct. 8, and 5 tackles vs. San Diego on Oct. 15
  • Started at Chicago on Oct. 29, with 9 tackles and 1 PBU
  • Played safety and nickel back with 7 tackles and 1 PBU vs. Minnesota on Nov. 5

2005 Season:
 
  • Played in 14 games, and started in a Career-High 10 contests
  • Finished tied with a team leading and CAREER-HIGH four interceptions
  • Established Career-Highs in tackles (68), forced fumbles (1) and sacks (1.0)
  • Saw extensive action at defensive back in nickel packages, finishing with three solo tackles, one sack for five-yard loss and one game-saving interception in final minute vs. St. Louis (9-11) to preserve 28-25 win
  • Finished with two solo tackles at safety, along with three special team stops and forced fumble at Philadelphia (9-18)
  • Made First Career start, playing free safety after playing first three games as a nickel defensive back at Arizona in Mexico City (10-2) when Mike Rumph was placed on injured reserve with a foot injury
  • Moved from corner to safety during week leading up to game
  • Started and registered seven solo tackles while also recovering an Edgerrin James fumble in end zone to save touchdown vs. Indianapolis (10-9)
  • Started and led team with nine tackles (seven solo) at Washington (10-23)
  • Started and recorded four tackles (two solo) vs. Arizona (12-4-05) and intercepted a Kurt Warner pass intended for Anquan Boldin right before halftime at the 49ers 15-yard line
  • Made first NFL start at left cornerback vs. Houston (1-1-06), when injuries to Bruce Thornton (knee) and Derrick Johnson (neck) forced 49ers coaches to shuffle the secondary
  • Scored Career-First NFL touchdown on 40-yard interception in the third quarter
  • Intercepted second pass and lateraled to Ben Emanuel to set up 49ers game-winning field goal

  • Earned second team All-Atlantic 10 honors after senior season

  • As a junior, posted 63 tackles, three tackles for loss, three pass defensed, one forced fumble and three interceptions
